Nonsense...the sides know exactly where they stand but Bush must keep up the "depends on conditions on the ground" ploy just to help McCain save face while underneath Maliki has already demanded the Obama plan knowing that Bush doesn't have much longer in office to try to set the agenda. Once the neocons are out of power Maliki no longer has to accept their blackmail or threats of reprisal for not keeping our bases and contractors in place.
Bush must agree just to extend the time we are allowed to keep troops there so it doesn't appear we are being forced to withdraw by the Iraqis themselves. There will always be "conditions on the ground" which neocons can use to excuse their continued presence and profiteering. Now that they got the oil agreements they are less likely to "create" new conditions on the ground but are only now referring to them just so McCain can say he supported the withdrawal.
It all assumes Americans are ill informed and too stupid to see through the rhetoric covering for "will you just get the hell out of our country already" coming from the majority of Iraqis.Posted at August 27, 2008 5:13 PM in response to Agree To Disagree? Yeah Wolfson...like when Faux says dems are hard hitting mad dogs who eat crap on bread in the morning...you took up for dems by saying dems aren't hard hitting and they don't like bread.
You should be so insulted as a dem by the station you work for that you'd refuse to be paid by them or take part in their activities.
But ...who cares...why is this even taking up space with all the really interesting discussions going on. We must all really be bored...like reading what the small print says on a matchbook cover.???

***Citoyen92...thanks for posting that. Extremely informative. Not only did this administration reject anything that might disrupt their plans of aggression but they also want to keep it secret.
Ney was a corrupt politician who had the misfortune of being the receiver of information that would have led to turning Iran into a friend which interfered with the neocon plan to demonize the nation to further their plans to steal their resources.
It was all so unnecessary and cost us dearly in blood and treasure. Why would anyone even consider allowing these thugs to continue their agenda of fear and war. So unnecessary.

For all the sympathy and fortune McCain has generated for being a POW if he hadn't been captured and forced into the position...he would have volunteered for it. He's realized it's the best thing that ever happened to him.
Plus got to work of a little Karma for being responsible for the deaths of 137 fellow crewmen on the USS Forrestal for showing off(against warnings) with a "wet start" which killed the pilot in the plane behind him and started that tragic fire which got him air lifted from the ship immediately (to prevent retalliation...he was the only one taken off ship immediately after the fires broke out) Except he really didn't think about it all that much. In fact graduating 894th out of 899 men at his Annapolis class, he really didn't think about anything all that much, except booze and women. Now he's a family values phony pandering to anyone for their vote...An irresponsible ignorant deceitful hothead does not make a good president.

No wonder Kristol supports McCain...they are both wrong on everything and embarrass themselves with their ignorance every time they open their mouths.
They wouldn't be satisfied with her endorsement if they had written it themselves. Kristol's most used line.."Who do ya' have to blow to get on the air around here". Sad state of affairs when someone like Kristol is hired to do commentary. Just pathetic

Are they the surge?...are they the ones who believed ethnic cleansing was the best way to deal with the Iraq civil war...are they the ones who bombed the Iraqis out of their neighborhoods, displacing millions of families who had to flee the country to save their lives...were they the ones who inflamed the Iraq citizens by their indiscriminate killing that every body was trying to kill them back...were they successful in killing enough people that violence went down, in order to protect and enable the contractor profiteering.???
They must have been so disappointed when they saw that paying the out of work army of Sunnis to battle criminal gangs and al qaeda accomplished the same thing. So these are the members of the Bush/Cheney/Rove killing squad since there were no WMDs and Iraq never posed a threat to our country and Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11 so they weren't doing it for us or our safety or their country but for these neocon lying mass murders.
I wondered what they looked like. I imagined them all furry with horns that say "I don't care if I'm being used I just want to kill something". Huh? Maybe that is just what they look like on the inside.

Why the swift boating ads won't work...again.
2000 and 2004 ran swift boat ads that influenced the nation. But then these idiots made the critical mistake of bragging about it and showing exactly how and why they made them effective. The American public having had 4yrs to think about that concluded it was not what they wanted to see repeated...that it was deceitful and despicable.
Now, when they try to run such ads the public is aware that they are swift boat ads and not to be believed. In fact it brings up resentment that these groups assume we are stupid enough to be affected by them again and points to using them as desperate and dishonorable. Same old nonsense...different day. Now instead of "Oh really, I didn't know that",...it's "There they go again. Can they sink any lower?"
I loved Obama campaign's response. It shows the desperation of McCain to avoid talking about our problems and how he tries to distract from the issues of the day. It shows McCain's pettiness and effectively puts him in his place.
"Look what we did...and Americans fell for it like the sheep they are...hahaha." And they wonder why it's not working this time. That's drinking the kool aid from the gutter where Rove lives.

Truman said I'm not giving them hell...I tell them the truth and it seems like hell.
I don't want a smack down wrestling match for a political campaign. I hope Biden just points out the truth about McCain and McCain's attacks. I don't want a tough guy contest on who is more willing to spill blood or threaten other countries or who can be toughest on Russia and get the cold war started again with bellicose rhetoric.
Already Biden has refused to jump in on the tough guy contest with McCain on Iran insisting we need to talk with Iran...good for him. A real tough guy doesn't have to act or talk tough...his confidence in knowing he is tough shines through even as he talks of peace. That's the Biden I want to see, not a barking dog.

btw...I would just as soon Obama did not pander for conservative votes by catering to the conservative agenda. It's time for conservatives to become more liberal out of the necessity to ensure our democracy continues as a nation with liberty for all.
Conservatives must see that their policies have painted them into a corner and that government efficiency rather than privatization is the path out of that corner.

I understood they did ask that question...or close to it. McCain's response was, "I'm not questioning his patriotism...I'm questioning his judgment..."
McCain is acting like there's a difference when clearly he IS questioning his patriotism and this is the fact that should be pointed out to... "McCain".
Claiming he would rather see our country defeated clearly attacks both patriotism and judgment but McCain says it only questions his judgment. This is what reporters should be calling him out on, that there is no difference in his assertions of unpatriotic bad judgments. Just saying...that is how McCain white washes his attacks on Obama's patriotism.
