  • Come to Obama

Yesterday, with an open but ever sarcastically libertarian mind, I went to experience Obama-mania and listen to Barak Obama give an economic speech.  The event was billed as a 'town hall' here at the Austin Convention Center.  Texas, being a...more »

  • In a thousand years Morgan le Fay will have a lycra pant suit, an interdimensional spacecraft and a light saber. Or maybe that was back in 1979.

  • There is no 'ctrl' button on Obama's computer. Obama is always in control.
Obama can sneeze with his eyes open.
Obama can eat just one Lay's potato chip.

Somebody needs to create an Obama Facts website.

  • But Quasar, yesterday you taught me that all Texas Republicans were racists. You're feeding me too many dissonant cognitions. I think I'll have to lie down for a spell. Maybe listen to a little music.

  • "I ain't never had a Texas Republican cite a Parliment/Funkadelic lyric. Come on."

I'm thinking of at least two friends that fit the bill right now. But, I have friends of diverse political backgrounds. I can see how that might be a problem for you.

  • Well, you've completely misread the Gospels and forgot Jesus' "greatest of all commandments". Jesus loved the prostitute, the adulterer and even the Pharisee (the Republican of his day). Jesus' reightous anger drove him to expel the corruption of the "moneychangers" from the Temple and accuse the religous establishment leaders that they were sons of the devil, but you'll never find him demonizing the misled grassroots of his opponents. Meditate on that.

  • "Obama is just a HRC clone, led by Zbig and Robert Rubin."

Don't forget that Jim Johnson is also a Bilderberg and Trilateralist.

I have a begrudging respect for Zbiggy's "imperial" (sic) genius and I find it preferable to the passing Neocon insanity, but let's not forget that the supranational monetary elite are firmly in control of Obama. As a left-libertarian myself, I can't quite reconcile my desire for "change" and "hope" with the fact that Obama can be counted on to continue the disastrous monetary policies that have brought this nation to bankruptcy.

By the way, maybe identity politics has taken a breather, but this is still largely about personality cults.

  • Thanks for posting this. The expensive occupation of "Mesopotamia" also figured prominently in the final days of the Roman Empire. Not that history is ever any guide.

  • I guess nobody else cares that Hagel hid his partial ownership of ES&S voting systems in partnership with the local newspaper that always endorsed him for Senator.

No wonder he's considered a candidate for Obama's VP.
